The Biosecurity Initiative
An interconnected approach towards human, animal and environmental health
Strengthening Public Health
Ensuring Sustainable Agriculture
Bio safety in Dual use Research
Strengthening Public Health Sectors
Develop strong disease surveillance systems to detect biological threats early
Improve coordination between health authorities, laboratories, and security agencies
Promote public awareness and hygiene practices to reduce disease transmission
Enhance emergency preparedness plans for pandemics and biological incidents
Agricultural Biosecurity
Strict quarantine measures to prevent the entry of pests, diseases, and invasive species.
Regular monitoring and surveillance of crops and livestock for early detection of diseases.
Use of disease-resistant crop varieties and healthy seeds.
Proper sanitation and hygiene practices on farms (clean equipment, controlled farm access).
Safe handling and disposal of infected plants or animals to stop disease spread.
Environment Biosecurity
Prevent the introduction of invasive species through strict quarantine and border controls.
Monitor ecosystems regularly to detect harmful organisms early.
Implement strong environmental protection laws and regulations.
Protect biodiversity and natural habitats through conservation programs.
Regulate the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to avoid ecological risks.
Improve waste management and pollution control to protect soil, water, and air.

Science to achieve One world, One health
With cuts in Public Sector Development Programs and under funding of public health sectors, periphery countries are more vulnerable towards disease outbreaks, locusts and pest in agricultural lands and threats of misuse of biological weapons.
Civil Societies and Public Sector must collectively work to ensure an integrated solution towards health of every living being and the planet.
